How to read the chart: this is the trajectory of reported confirmed cases and deaths among confirmed cases in the DRC, not when the infections actually occurred. INSP repeatedly points out that the DHIS2 database is being cleaned and harmonised; daily changes may therefore include retrospective laboratory confirmation or revised case classification.
Chart data cut-off: the series ends with the latest public detailed report, SitRep 102 with data as of 24 August. SitReps 101–102 have been added without reconstructing missing days. See Current situation for the latest overview.
Daily reporting in the available SitReps
The case bars are the item “nouveaux cas confirmés”. The death bars show newly reported deaths among confirmed cases, where the SitRep states that metric separately.
On checking, SitReps N°21, N°29, N°43, N°45 and N°63 were not found as public entries in the current INSP series. The missing days are therefore not interpolated. For SitRep 46, the daily case bar uses ECDC’s reported increase of 26 newly confirmed cases compared with the previous public update as of 28 June; it is not calculated as the difference between the last two plotted points. For SitReps 47–59, 60–62, 64–68 and 72–102, daily values are taken directly from the SitReps. For SitReps 53–58 and 60, no daily death bar is drawn because the reports do not separate that metric comparably.

Sources and limitations
The series is built from the official SitReps of the DRC INSP/COUSP for the current 17th epidemic of Ebola disease in the DRC (in the original MVB, maladie à virus Bundibugyo). Uganda is not included in the daily series because its public dashboard does not provide a historical daily series traceable in the same way. The dashboard as of 28 July separately reports 20 confirmed cases, 2 deaths, 18 recovered, 0 current admissions, 0 active contacts under follow-up and 821 contacts with completed 21-day follow-up.
SitReps 86–102 state their daily values directly. SitRep 89 reports 118 cases while the cumulative total rises by 117 because of ongoing harmonisation; SitRep 93 reports 101 cases while the cumulative total rises by 102 because one earlier case had been omitted. SitReps 101–102 directly report case/death pairs of 70/38 and 72/35; death values sum community deaths and confirmed deaths in treatment centres. SitRep 102 newly lists Ganga health zone in Bas-Uele. The bars therefore use directly reported daily values rather than differences between cumulative totals.
